News from the Guidance Department:.

The ASVAB test will be tomorrow in the cafeteria at 8:00 am.

If you are testing, you will need to go to your 1st period class to check attendance and then you will be called to the Cafeteria at 7:55 am. If you have any questions, please see Col. Hart or Mrs. Williams.

The Course Fair is Wednesday in Edgewood! You’ll go through your science classes and get an early look at classes and organizations you might be interested in for the upcoming year. Don’t miss out on your chance to figure out what kind of schedule you want in the future! Parents can attend the Course Fair tomorrow night from 5- 5:30 in the Edgewood building.

Sports News:

The last regular season game for the Lady Rebels Soccer team will be tonight at Rebel Stadium vs Sterlington and this is also Senior Night for the Lady Rebs, so come on out at 5:15 and support the seniors and the rest of the team!! To clear up any confusion, Senior night for the ladies was rescheduled due to rain, but the game has not been changed.
Boys soccer will be on the road tonight against Northwood-Shreveport for their season Finale.
Big district implications for our basketball programs this week. The Basketball team has a game at Ouachita tomorrow night. Girls start at 4:30, and the boys will follow. They also play Friday at home vs Pineville.
Coming up this week, the baseball and softball teams start of their seasons.Both teams have brand new fields to play on, so come out to enjoy the games and check out the new area. For Baseball, there’s a Freshman and JV scrimmage Thursday at home vs Ruston starting at 4:30. Saturday, Softball will be at Airline while Baseball plays Byrd at home.

Club and Organization News:

Junior Civitans will have a meeting tomorrow in Mrs. Beach's room (6206). There is a sign-up sheet on our Google Classroom. We plan to have pizza! Deadline to sign up is January 12th.
FCS meets Wednesday at 7:15 in the new gym.
The West Monroe High School Band is pleased to host The United States Navy Band on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 7PM in the West Monroe High School Auditorium as part of their national tour. This is one of the world's finest bands and is always a stunning and enjoyable concert! Tickets are free but required. Check with Mr. Freeman for ticket information
The link to tickets for the Valentine’s Dance has officially gone live. Tickets are $10. The first 50 students to purchase tickets will receive a prize in their homeroom so go ahead and buy your tickets today. Students should use their Student ID # to purchase tickets. Outsiders must be approved through email to Mrs. Knox. Email her your date’s ID picture and the school they attend. knox@opsb.net
If you are interested in working backstage on this year's spring musical, The Little Mermaid, applications are available outside the choir room. Please pick up an application, follow the instructions and return the application by the deadline. Selected applicants will be notified once all teacher recommendations are complete. Should be within a few weeks.
